Canon make great cameras – there is no doubt about that. However, when it comes to tripods, they sensibly leave that to specialist manufacturers such as Zomei, MACTREM, Fotopro, Endurax and Ubeesize.
To be honest, Canon do/have manufactured two tripods – the Canon Deluxe Tripod 300 and the Canon Deluxe 200 Tripod. While they are intended to be used with any Canon camera, they are NOT suitable for use with a heavy Canon DSLR camera with a big lens attached to it. These two tripods are primarily made of plastic. Their quality is only average and there are far better quality tripods available from other manufacturers which are designed for Canon cameras.
If you are looking for a tripod which can take the weight of a large Canon DSLR fitted with serious-sized lens, once again you have a variety of manufacturers to choose from.
